Detailed step-by-step guide
From the village centre, take the road towards Tárbena. After passing the entrance to the Castellet campsite, you’ll come across a path on the right which marks the start of the ascent.
The path climbs steadily until it reaches Coll de Castell (861 m), a key point where several trails converge. Along this section, you will come across various side paths, but it is important to follow the signs for the PR-CV 149.
This first section follows the same route as the PR-CV 19, which highlights the importance of this route for hiking in Castell de Castells.
At Coll de Castell, there are signposts for several trails (PR-CV 149, 18 and 19). From here, we take the path on the left, which runs through the shade, a cooler area with denser vegetation.
Continuing the ascent, we reach a pass at an altitude of 1,043 metres, from where we follow the main path to a fork. Here we take the path on the right, which leads us towards the mountain ridge.
One of the most interesting points along the route is the area of Font de los Tejos (PR-CV 18), situated about 200 metres from the main path. It is an ideal spot for a short break.
Continuing along the route, we reach another signposted junction (PR-CV 150, elevation 1,404 m). From here, we take the path on the right to climb up a valley that allows us to gain altitude quickly.
This final stretch is one of the most spectacular sections of the hike through inland Alicante, as it winds through open terrain with breathtaking views.
Finally, we reach the summit of Morro Blau (1,126 m), where we find a triangulation point and a forest ranger’s hut.
